Boyce Park ski slopes set to open Friday

The Boyce Park ski slopes will open for the winter season Friday, Dec. 13. The season will kick off with skiing from 3:30 to 9 p.m. The opening of the snow tubing area is delayed.

A complete schedule, including holiday hours, can be found online at Skiing and Snowboarding – Allegheny County, PA. Weather and conditions permitting, the season is expected to run through mid-March.

Ski slope lift tickets are $15 for residents Monday through Thursday and $20 Friday through Sunday and weekends. Lift tickets for nonresidents are $19 Monday through Thursday and $25 on weekends and holidays. Rental equipment is $20 for residents and $25 for nonresidents and lockers are $1 for both.

Lift tickets for children 5 and under are free. Rental equipment includes boards, boots, poles and helmet.

Tubing admission is $17 for residents and $21 for nonresidents. All tubing participants must be at least 42 inches tall and those between 42 and 50 inches must be linked to an adult while tubing.

One-hour group and private lessons also are available for skiers 7 and up at a cost of $25 and $40, respectively for residents and $31 and $50 for nonresidents. Lift tickets must be purchased separately with a lesson purchase.
