The Montour Spartans lost 2-1 to DuBois in the first round of the PIAA Class 5A baseball tournament Monday, ending their season at 18-7. A critical sixth-inning error allowed DuBois to score the winning run, and Montour came up just short in its bid to tie the game in the seventh.

Players from Montour and Moon high schools received accolades in the Big 56 Conference for Class 5A baseball and softball.
