Anna Palm scored late to secure a 2-1 win for Moon Area over Shaler in the WPIAL Girls Class 3A soccer quarterfinals. Moon, now 18-1, will face South Fayette in the semifinals. Meanwhile, Our Lady of Sacred Heart girls volleyball team also advanced.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart secured a 5-0 victory over Aquinas Academy, clinching the Class 1A Section 3 boys soccer championship. Moon Area’s boys and girls golf teams failed to advance in their respective championships, while Moon’s girls cross country team excelled at the MAC meet.

Jonah Schollaert secured the WPIAL Class 2A boys individual golf championship with a total score of 144, winning by two strokes. He will advance to the PIAA Championships, as will Bishop Canevin’s Jamin Brock, who finished 17th.Other sports results include soccer, cross country, and volleyball matches.

The Moon Area girls soccer team defeated Blackhawk 5-0, improving to 9-1 overall. Key players included Kendall Dydek and Ally D’Alesio. Montour won 6-0 against Chartiers Valley with Irelynn Hobbs scoring three goals, while Our Lady of the Sacred Heart triumphed over Freedom 3-1.
