Boyce Park winter facilities set to open Saturday for skiing, snowboarding

Boyce Park’s winter facilities for skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing will open for the season Saturday, Dec. 20, weather and conditions permitting.

Ski and snowboard areas will open with groomed surfaces and snow depths ranging from 14 to 44 inches. Both lifts will be operable. Casper’s Beginner Area and Adam’s Run will be open. Rattlesnake Ridge, Pine Valley, Alpine and both terrain parks will remain closed at this time. 

Snow tubing will also be open on Saturday, with approximately 34 inches of snow depth. One lift will be operating, with four tubing lanes available. 

Registration links for lift tickets, snow tubing tickets and lessons will be available online ahead of opening day.  

A complete schedule, including holiday hours, can be found online. Weather and conditions permitting, the winter season is expected to run through mid-March. Stay updated on snow and facility conditions by visiting Snow Conditions | Allegheny County Parks. 

Information on admission rates, season passes, and private and group lessons will be available online. Guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance, as availability may be limited. 

Ice Rink Update 

South Park Ice Rink is expected to open Saturday, Dec. 20. North Park Ice Rink is experiencing maintenance issues and will have a delayed opening. The opening date of North Park Ice Rink will be announced soon after repairs have been made.
