Robinson commissioners terminate police officer facing criminal charges

A Robinson Township police officer facing criminal charges for an incident that authorities say took place while he was off duty two months ago has been terminated. The township Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 27 to terminate Steven Paul Pies. Pies awaits a preliminary hearing scheduled for Nov. 4.

Robinson police officer charged with off-duty aggravated assault

Robinson Township police officer Steven Paul Pies, 50, faces felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault charges for what authorities say was an off-duty July 2 attack. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Aug. 26 to determine if he stands trial.
