Allegheny County on Friday announced the lineup for its 2026 Summer Concert Series, featuring more than two dozen free performances at the South Park and Hartwood Acres amphitheaters.
Concerts will begin at 6 p.m. and food trucks, Hop Farm Brewing Company and Black Dog Wine Company will be available at each event.
The series includes a mix of local performers, national acts and returning cultural institutions, including River City Brass, Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Pittsburgh Opera, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Tamburitzans.
New this year is a drone show marking America’s 250th anniversary, scheduled for July 5 at Hartwood Acres Park. HireUAVPro will operate more than 200 drones in a choreographed aerial display set to music by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. The event will benefit children and youth served by the county Department of Human Services. Organizers suggest a $30 per vehicle donation, payable by cash or credit card.
Highlights at South Park include Jimmie Ross & The Jaggerz on June 12. The group scored a gold-certified No. 2 Billboard hit with “The Rapper” in 1970. The Heavy Heavy, a Brighton, England-based band known for its retro-inspired rock sound, will perform July 10. Orleans, known for hits including “Dance with Me” and “Still the One,” are scheduled for July 17.
Singer-songwriter Ruthie Foster, a Grammy Award winner for best contemporary blues album in 2025, will perform July 24. Don McLean, whose song “American Pie” became a landmark in pop music, is set for July 31. Guitarist Reb Beach, a Fox Chapel native and founding member of Winger, will close out the South Park highlights on Sept. 4.
At Hartwood Acres, Tito Puente Jr. and Nestor Torres will perform June 28, blending Latin jazz traditions. British new wave band The Fixx will take the stage July 12. Cyril Neville, a founding member of the Neville Brothers, is scheduled for July 19.
Hip-hop group Arrested Development, who won the Grammy Award for best new artist in 1993, will perform July 26. The Wood Brothers, an Americana trio nominated for a Grammy Award, are set for Aug. 2. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, known for its role in reviving swing music, will perform Aug. 9.
The Lemon Twigs, a rock duo praised for their eclectic sound, will close out the Hartwood Acres highlights on Aug. 16.
