Around Town | Adults vs. teens at Sto-Rox community kickball

  • The Sto-Rox school community got together for a game of kickball where teens squared off against adults.

The Sto-Rox School District hosted a combined teens versus adults kickball event and resource fair at the Jr./Sr. High School on Sunday, Aug. 4.

During the match-up, adults played kickball against students on the football field. The adults – including School Director Adrienne Roberts, Upper Elementary Principal Heather Johnston, new Primary Center Principal Lisa Mumau, Jr./Sr. High School Assistant Principal Asia Davis, McKees Rocks Mayor David Flick, and others – beat a group of teens by a score of 10-5. Following the game, participants enjoyed a cookout.

Community members included Cure Violence, Focus on Renewal, McKees Rocks Community Development Corporation, Steel City Impact, Zellous Hope, Pittsburgh Area Community Schools, Welcome to the Table Project and others.

    It’s wonderful to see both communities supporting each others causes,that’s what makes volunteering so worth while.and to see kids happy faces😊 priceless
