Building upgrades approved

Sto-Rox school directors approved $96,500 in capital fund expenditures to pay for roofing repairs and repaving projects at two district sites during their Oct. 28 meeting.

Faced with the need to fund a $2 million new roof installation in the near future, the board decided against a $100,000 interim job and approved a minimal patch-up costing $19,500 that their building manager advised would see them through the winter.

The other $77,000 will pay for the repaving of the high school courtyard parking lot and the deteriorating sidewalk around the upper elementary school.
