Chief Robert W. ‘Marty’ Martineau

Age 84, of McKees Rocks, on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. Former husband of Joann Martineau. Beloved daddy of Robert Martineau, Jr. (Katelyn Pryor), Colleen (Gary) Castelucci, Robert (Marguerite) Virgili, Susie Martineau (Dino Davis), and the late Joann Cushin (Surviving husband, Ben Cushin). Loving grandfather of Bobby, Billy, Johnny, Bobby, Taylor, and the late Vinnie.

Marty was a wonderful father and husband. He served his county in the U.S. Air Force and then as a police officer and Chief for the Borough of McKees Rocks for 46 years. He was inducted into Heinz Sports Center for over 30 years of dedicated service as a football referee for both College and High School games in the Western Pennsylvania area.

Marty was known for his entertaining stories, which he loved to tell mostly about “Wolford.”

He truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends, snacking on junk food, and having a few beers at Rudy’s or Michael’s lounge.

Marty was a father, a son, a great leader, and a best friend. He was a Roxian. He was a McKees Rocks police officer and the best chief.

On April 2, family and friends were invited to Szal Funeral Home, Inc. where services began on April 3 and were followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Archangel Gabriel Parish, St. Mary’s Church in McKees Rocks PA.
