Chujko investigation inconclusive

An investigation into a commercial fire that broke out in McKees Rocks Feb. 16 has been ruled inconclusive.

Matt Brown, Allegheny County’s chief of emergency services, was unable to describe the nature of the investigation but said a clear determination could still be made at a later point if new evidence surfaces.

The fire broke out at an apparently vacant commercial building owned by J. V. Chujko at 1125 Chartiers Ave. and was quickly contained by firefighters.

Local fire officials, who according to Brown placed the call for an investigation, did not respond to requests for comment.
