Crafton and Robinson have been designated as countywide leaders in the 2021 Banner Communities program, announced March 8.
“All of our communities have been stressed during this pandemic… Yet, throughout these challenges, these municipalities continue to serve the residents of their community in ways that set them apart,” said County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, a board member for the Allegheny League of Municipalities (ALOM), which oversees the program.
Starting in 2013, ALOM has named a selection of municipalities and municipal authorities as Banner Communities upon their “commitment to effective, efficient and accountable government principles.”
This year, Crafton and Robinson were named alongside 66 other municipalities and five municipal authorities.
Allegheny County currently encompasses 130 municipalities, including the city of Pittsburgh.
