Olds’ four touchdown receptions tied a single-game school record set by Melvin earlier this season. Olds caught all four of his touchdown passes in the second quarter, after he returned an interception 41 yards for a score in the opening quarter.

Olds finished with five receptions for 103 yards and Melvin had three catches for 64 yards.

Bishop Canevin improved to 5-2 on the season and 3-0 in conference play in winning its fifth straight game after opening the season with back-to-back losses. Serra Catholic fell to 1-6 overall and 0-3 in the conference.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 14, South Park 13

A pair of two-point conversions in the final three minutes proved to be the difference in the visiting Chargers’ win – one that they converted and one that they stopped.

Jamire Samuels’ 3-yard touchdown run, followed by his two-point conversion run, gave OLSH a 14-7 lead with 3 minutes to play in the fourth quarter.

South Park answered when Robert Lenzi connected on a 37-yard touchdown pass to Colsten Heynes on a fourth-and-5 play with 2:13 remaining to cut the OLSH lead to 14-13.

South Park set up for a PAT try, then called time out and decided to go for the two-point conversion attempt. Lenzi dropped back to pass but was sacked by OLSH’s Isaiah Jackson at the 20-yard line to preserve the Chargers’ 14-13 lead.

OLSH then recovered an onside kick and ran out the clock to improve to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in Class 2A Allegheny Conference play. South Park dropped to 3-4 and 0-3.

“This was a huge win for us,” OLSH coach Donnie Militzer said after the game. “Our staff challenged the guys all week and they responded with resilience and an amazing effort.”

OLHS’s first score came on a 27-yard pass from J.J. Hayden to Thomas Pinno in the second quarter, but South Park moved ahead 7-6 on Lenzi’s 1-yard touchdown run and Kolby Kostelnik’s PAT.

That set the stage for what proved to be Samuels’ game-tying touchdown run and go-ahead two-point conversion. Samuels rushed for 103 yards on 19 carries.
