Girls basketball: Sto-Rox, Montour, OLSH all claim wins at PBC Classic in Ambridge

Brooklynn Sykes exploded for 27 points and Sto-Rox used an 18-4 third-quarter advantage to pull away from Ambridge and post a 42-23 victory in Saturday’s Pittsburgh Basketball Club Hall of Fame girls basketball classic at Ambridge.
Sto-Rox led 18-8 at halftime but put the game out of reach with its third-quarter outburst. Sykes scored 10 of her 27 points in the third quarter.
Kamiyah Thompson added 11 points for Sto-Rox, which improved to 4-3.

Montour 73, Hopewell 33
Siena Palmer led three players in double figures with 16 points and the Spartans used a 25-point second quarter to take control in a win over the Vikings in the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Hall of Fame Classic at Ambridge.
Montour, now 6-2, led 18-11 after one quarter but outscored the Vikings 25-10 in the second quarter to build a 43-21 halftime lead. The Spartans went on to score 30 second-half points to Hopewell’s 12.
Palmer connected on four 3-pointers for Montour. Tiffany Miller contributed 15 points for the Spartans and teammate Brooklyn Young added 12.
Addison Blosivick led Hopewell with eight points.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 39, Keystone Oaks 24
Lola Garner scored a game-high 10 points and the Chargers led by just six heading into the fourth quarter but outscored the Golden Eagles 9-0 in the final eight minutes to win going away at the Pittsburgh Basketball Club Hall of Fame Classic at Ambridge.
Garner opened the fourth quarter with a pair of baskets, one on a follow and the other on a shot from inside the lane to make it 36-24.
Shae Trombetta followed with a 3-pointer to extend the lead to 39-24 for OLSH, which improved to 5-2.
Nina DeWeese scored nine points to lead Keystone Oaks. The Chargers return to action at 5 p.m. Monday at home against Sto-Rox
