Lola Garner hit for 22 points to help Our Lady of the Sacred Heart cruise to a 62-19 victory over Ellwood City Friday night in a WPIAL Class 3A Section 1 girls basketball game at OLSH’s Angela Activities Center.
The Chargers wasted no time in establishing control, pouring in 19 points in the opening quarter to Ellwood City’s eight.
OLSH widened the margin in the second quarter, doubling Ellwood City’s six-point output to take a 31-14 lead at halftime.
The Chargers, now 3-0 overall and 1-0 in the section, removed all doubt by scoring 15 points to Ellwood City’s three in the third quarter.
Macie Trombetta added 12 points for OLSH.
Jadyn Allwine and Kyra Condell each scored seven points to pace Ellwood City.

BOYS
Sto-Rox 59, Westinghouse 51
L.J. Washington scored a team-high 23 points, including nine in the third quarter, and the Vikings posted a nonsection win over the host Bulldogs.
Sto-Rox, now 2-2, led 30-21 at halftime and took a 48-37 lead into the final eight minutes, then held on for the victory.
M.J. Thomas contributed 10 points for the Vikings while Karic Willis and Adam Thomas each finished with eight.
Cornell 72, Propel Montour 71
Terrance Collington’s clutch free throw with 6 seconds to play in the game proved to be the difference as the Raiders claimed the win.
Eduardo Benitez scored 24 points to lead Cornell while Collington finished with 15. Zy’Air Dupree contributed 14 points and Devin Lamb had 10 for the Raiders.
Marjai Porch paced Propel Montour with 22 points while John Anderson scored 20 and TyTy Hawkins added 19.
Avella 62, Carlynton 47
Bryce Wright scored a game-high 20 points and the Eagles used a hot start and a strong finish to down the Cougars in a nonsection game.
Avella outscored Carlynton 20-10 in the first quarter and led 33-27 at halftime. The Eagles widened their lead to eight points heading into the final eight minutes and then outscored the Cougars 15-8 to seal the win.
Rylan Bell, Brayden Fuller and Cameron Ullom each scored 11 points for Avella. Isaac Anker’s 11 points led Carlynton, which fell to 2-2, and Mikey Jenkins added 10.
Lincoln Park 66, Montour 49
Josh Pratt poured in 24 points and the Leopards used a 13-0 run late in the second quarter to take control on the way to a Class 5A Section 4 win over the visiting Spartans.
Montour put together a 14-13 lead after one quarter and led 29-28 with three minutes left in the second quarter.
But a combination of Spartans turnovers and Lincoln Park’s long-range shooting turned things around and enabled the Leopards to open up a 41-29 halftime lead. All told, Lincoln Park hit five 3-pointers in the quarter, and Pratt accounted for three of them.
The Leopards added to the lead in the third quarter and weren’t threatened the rest of the way.
Amaizen Straughters added 19 points and Jeremiah Pratt contributed 16 for Lincoln Park, which improved to 4-0 overall and 1-0 in the section.
Loic Kalau led Montour with 17 points and Zane Schachter added 14.
Neshannock 69, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 46
David Kwiat led all scorers with 23 points and the Lancers had three players score in double figures to down the visiting Chargers in a Class 2A Section 4 game.
Neshannock built a 22-14 first-quarter lead on the way to a 37-28 halftime advantage and outscored OLSH 18-8 in the third quarter to take a 55-36 lead heading into the final eight minutes.
Luca Pagley added 17 points for the winners while Jino Mozzocio tallied 12.
Jake Johnson scored 19 points to lead the Chargers, who fell to 2-1 overall and 0-1 in section play, and Tiernan McCullough finished with 10.
