Dylan Huff registered 12 kills and a block to pace Montour to a 3-1 victory over Trinity Thursday night in a WPIAL Class 2A Section 4 boys volleyball contest at Montour.
The Spartans prevailed by scores of 25-23, 20-25, 25-15 and 25-18.
Gaige Schoff contributed nine kills while Wyatt Bucek finished with eight kills and four blocks for Montour.
Ben Slifkey collected 37 assists for the Spartans, who evened their section record at 2-2 and improved to 3-4 overall.
Seneca Valley 3, Moon Area 0
The Raiders swept the Tigers in a Class 3A Section 3 match, winning by scores of 25-12, 25-17, 25-22. No other details were available.
South Fayette 3, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 0
The Lions blanked the Chargers in a Class 2A Section 4 contest, posting scores of 25-15, 25-16, 25-16.
OLSH won the junior varsity match, 28-26 and 25-17.
TRACK AND FIELD
Sto-Rox competed in a meet involving Eden Christian Academy, Nazareth Prep, Quaker Valley, Sewickley Academy and host Shadyside Academy.
Khayyam Smith was the only Viking to finish in the top three in any event, as he placed third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.18 seconds.
Marques Johnson finished fifth in the shot put with a toss of 33 feet, 2 inches.
Other Sto-Rox boys finishing in the top 10 in their respective events were Aaron McGuire, who finished ninth in the 100 meters with a time of 12.10, and Justin Patterson, who placed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 15-6.
In the girls meet, Sto-Rox’s Raymyah Bonnard finished eighth in the 100 meters in 14.54.
BOYS LACROSSE
Shaler 20, Moon 8
The Tigers trailed by just four goals at halftime, 10-6, but the Titans pulled away in the second half and posted a victory in a Class 2A Section 2 matchup Thursday night.
Ben Witenski led Moon with three goals while Brody Eckert and Cole Seymour each added two.
Alec Batchelor contributed a goal and an assist in the loss.
GIRLS LACROSSE

The Tigers claimed a close victory over the Golden Tornado in a Class 3A Section 2 contest Wednesday. No other details were available.
