OLSH golfer second at state tournament

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart’s Jonah Schollaert finished in a three-way tie for second place at the PIAA Class AA state championship golf tournament, which concluded Tuesday at Penn State.

Schollaert, a junior, carded a 71 during Tuesday’s second round, which gave him a two-day total of 140, good enough for a tie for second with John Curran of Devon Prep and Charlie Weidner of Lake Lehman.

Nick Werner of Wyoming Seminary won the tournament by shooting 70-68-138.

In Class 2A girls, Vivian Reiprish of OLSH finished 36th with a two-day total of 198 after her second-round 106 Tuesday.

In the Class 3A girls tournament, Liv DeGori of Moon finished 35th after carding an 85 Tuesday. DeGori, a sophomore, shot a 90 Monday.
