RMU basketball: Men travel to take on IU-Indianapolis Thursday; women host Jaguars

The Robert Morris men’s basketball team will look to snap a two-game losing streak when it travels to Indiana to play the Indiana University-Indianapolis Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The Horizon League game will feature the 11-7 Colonials against the 4-15 Jaguars, who are on a six-game losing streak.  IU-Indianapolis is winless in conference action at 0-8, while RMU enters the game with a 5-3 record in the Horizon League.

Kyler D’Agustino leads the Jaguars in scoring with an average of 18.1 points per game and is shooting over 54% from the field.

Robert Morris’ latest outing resulted in a 79-74 home loss to the Purdue-Fort Wayne Mastodons Sunday.  After several back-and-forth first-half lead changes, the Mastodons took a 43-37 halftime lead. Robert Morris went on a 9-0 run early in the second half to take the lead, but Purdue-FW answered with a 22-7 run of its own.

The Colonials were not done and answered with a 21-10 run late in the game to cut the lead to one possession at 77-74.  The Colonials Ryan Prather’s last-second 3-point attempt was blocked, sealing the win for Purdue-FW.

Prather had a game-high 20 points for RMU and DeSean Goode added 14, but it was the balanced scoring from Purdue-FW that was the difference.  Corey Hadnot scored 17 and Maximus Nelson, DeAndre Craig and Mikale Stevenson added 15 each, respectively.
