RMU Colonials head to Monmouth University for nonconference men’s basketball

Monmouth, New Jersey – The Colonials will be looking to get back into the win column with a non-conference game against the Monmouth University Hawks from the Coastal Athletic Conference. The game will be played Sunday, Nov. 23 at the Multipurpose Activity Center in Monmouth, New Jersey at 3 p.m.

The Hawks are 1-3 on the season with losses to LaSalle, Seton Hall and Syracuse. Their only win is over Division II Caldwell University.

Robert Morris is 3-2 on the season, after a loss at the Reilly Center in Olean, New York to the St. Bonaventure Bonnies from the Atlantic 10 Conference.

St. Bonaventure led 37-33 at half but widened the lead in the second half and won by a score of 75-61.

The Bonnies were led by Frank Mitchell who had a double-double with 19 points and 16 rebounds. The Colonials kept pace with Josh Hill also scoring 19 points and adding 10 rebounds for his own double-double performance. The Colonials Nikolaos Chitikoudis added an additional 13 points and Ryan Prather scored 11.

With the win, St. Bonaventure remained undefeated for the season at 5-0.

Robert Morris will return to the UPMC Events Center in Moon Township to play two additional non conference games, beginning with the University of Illinois – Chicago (UIC) Flames (3-2) from the Missouri Valley Conference on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 2. The Colonials will then match-up against the University of Southern Utah Thunderbirds (1-5) from the Big Sky Conference on Friday, Nov. 28 at 2 p.m.
