Residents in McKees Rocks should expect road closures and parking restrictions Tuesday, April 28, as filming returns for the fifth season of the Paramount+ TV series “Mayor of Kingstown.”
According to a notice posted on the borough’s Facebook page, impacts will be centered on several streets in the borough.
From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., no parking will be permitted along:
- Olivia Street between Ella and Catherine streets
- Catherine Street between Olivia and Helen streets
- Helen Street between Ella and Catherine streets
- Ella Street between Helen and Olivia streets
In addition to parking restrictions, several roads will be closed to through traffic during filming. From 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., both Helen Street and Olivia Street between Ella and Catherine streets will be shut down. Local traffic, including trucks and buses, will be subject to intermittent delays.
Further closures will affect Charles Alley, Keebler Alley and George Alley, which will also be closed to through traffic during the same time period.
Production officials said the measures are being implemented for the safety of residents and crew members. The notice also acknowledged the potential for disruption and encouraged residents to contact the production’s location department with any questions or concerns.
The series, which has filmed extensively in the Pittsburgh region, continues to use locations across the borough as part of its latest season.
Pittsburgh Regional Transit meeting
The Sheraden Community Council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, at the Sheraden Healthy Active Living Community Center, 720 Sherwood Ave., to discuss proposed route changes in the area resulting from what the Pittsburgh Regional Transit district is calling its Bus Line Refresh project.
The meeting will give area residents an opportunity to provide feedback to PRT officials and ask questions about the proposed changes to the 26 and 27 lines, and other lines affected by the changes.
According to the PRT, Bus Line Refresh (BLR) is an update to the system’s bus network that reflects how people travel today while building on what already works. Rather than a major overhaul, BLR focuses on improving reliability, frequency, seven-day service and connectivity throughout the network.
