Boys basketball: Bishop Canevin breezes past Berlin Brothersvalley

Lamier Wade scored a game-high 16 points to help Bishop Canevin to a 71-47 victory over Berlin Brothersvalley Saturday in a non-section boys basketball game at Bishop Canevin.

Drew Allen added 14 points for the Crusaders, who improved to 11-8 overall with the win. Bishop Canevin can clinch an outright WPIAL Class 3A Section 2 title Tuesday night with a win over Keystone Oaks.

Damar Olds scored 13 points, six of which came in the first quarter when Bishop Canevin jumped to a 22-14 lead. Eddie Benton also scored six in the quarter.

The Crusaders added to their lead in the second quarter and held a 36-25 halftime lead.

Wade scored half of his game total in the third quarter, helping Bishop Canevin outscore the visitors 19-13 to lengthen their advantage to 55-38 heading into the final eight minutes.

Mac Foor scored 14 points to lead Berlin Brothersvalley.
