West Hills area motorists who use Campbells Run Road have a little relief coming their way.
The Allegheny County Department of Public Works said Wednesday that the stretch of Campbells Run Road between Newell Street and the Public Works District 2 maintenance garage – 1081 Campbells Run Road – in Carnegie has reopened to traffic.
The closure, which began on June 18, was required for construction of a retaining wall, drainage improvements, utility relocations, milling and paving, and installation of guide rail and pavement markings.
Another project led by the Municipal Authority of the Township of Robinson continues. Short stoppages at work zones for sanitary sewer line installation between 4199 Campbells Run Road and Baldwin Road began Sept. 16.
An average of 14,827 drivers use Campbells Run Road daily.
Pugliano Construction Co. Inc., of Plum, completed Allegheny County’s $744,777 project.
