The Robert Morris University men’s hockey team will jump back into Atlantic Hockey America Conference play with a game in Erie against the Mercyhurst Lakers at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28.
The Lakers have struggled thus far in the season and have a record of 0-13 overall and 0-7 in conference play. Robert Morris’ record is 2-9-1 overall and 2-2 in the conference. Holy Cross is in first place in the AHAC with a 9-5-1 record and is 7-1-1in the conference.
Robert Morris’ trip to Saint Charles, Mo., over the weekend resulted in back-to-back losses to Lindenwood University (7-5).
The Lions took the first of those nonconference matches, 6-2, with Conner Gengle and Nolan Seed each scoring a pair of goals to lead the way.
Michal Felsing and Cameron Garvey each scored once for Robert Morris. The Colonials used two goaltenders in the game in Charlie Schenkel and Croix Kochendorf, each giving up three goals.
On Saturday, RMU took an early 2-0 lead on goals by Jackson Reinke and Ryan Taylor and later added a goal by Braden Rourke, but Lindenwood’s offense scored five goals in a 5-3 win. Lucas Massie got the start in net for Robert Morris.
Tanner Klimpke and Ryan Taylor lead the Colonials with eight points each while Bruce McDonald has seven.

Colonial women battle RIT in Black Friday AHAC matchup
The Robert Morris women’s hockey team will travel to Rochester, N.Y., to take on the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Engineers in an Atlantic Hockey America Conference game.
The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday. RIT is 8-10 overall and 4-6 in the conference and Robert Morris is 6-11-1 and 4-5-1 in conference play.
The Colonial women, like the men, traveled to Saint Charles, Mo., over the weekend to play Lindenwood in back-to-back conference games.
On Friday, the Colonials and Lions played to a 2-2 tie in regulation, but RMU won the shootout 2-0. The Colonials used goals from Alaina Giampietro in the first period and Jessica McKinnon in the third period to force overtime.
The following day, the Colonials played a dominant game against the Lions in a 3-0 shutout victory. Rowyn Ringor, Mya Kearns and Jessica McKinnon each scored once for the Colonials.
Maggie Hatch was in net for the shutout performance.
Penn State currently leads the AHA standings with a 16-0 overall record and 12-0 in conference play.
McKinnon leads the Colonials in points on the season with 17 while Morgan Giannone is next with 13 and Alaina Giampietro and Taylor Storey each have 10.
