Stowe shooting leaves man hospitalized in stable condition

Allegheny County Police detectives are investigating a late-night shooting in Stowe Township that left a man hospitalized in stable condition.

According to a police department statement, county 911 was notified of a shooting in the 700 block of Ridge Avenue at 12:36 a.m. Friday.

The department’s General Investigation Unit responded to a request for help, and first responders located an adult male who had sustained a single gunshot wound to his groin.

The man was transported by medics to an area hospital and was listed in stable condition as of 4:15 a.m. Friday.

Detectives have initiated an investigation, but preliminary information shows that an altercation between two parties had transpired just prior to the shooting.

Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to call the County Police Tip Line 1-833-ALL-TIPS.  Callers can remain anonymous.
