Moon Area’s girls soccer team defeated Fort LeBouef 2-1, led by Maddie Shaver and Ally D’Alesio’s goals. In boys soccer, Moon Area and Montour also secured victories while Seton La Salle defeated Bishop Canevin, 22-7, in WPIAL football action Saturday night.

Matthew Koch’s 2-under-par 33 led Moon Area to a boys golf victory over Montour 202-204, improving their record to 6-1. Meanwhile, Moon’s girls golf won 189-201 against Trinity, with both Schild and Marasco scoring 44. Volleyball and boys soccer also reported results.

Riley Mauro and Mary Crawford scored three goals each, leading Carlynton to a soccer win over South Allegheny. Freedom Area defeated Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 4-2 in soccer. Avonworth bested OLSH in boys golf; OLSH’s Katie Suess made a hole-in-one.

Matthew Koch and Chris Brown led Moon Area to a 187-193 victory in golf, each scoring 36. Meanwhile, OLSH improved to 4-0 with a 205-212 win, and Moon Area’s girls tennis team faced defeats against North Hills and Winchester Thurston.

Jonah Schollaert, a senior golfer at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, excels in the high school sports season, earning medalist honors in three matches and leading his team to victories with impressive under-par scores. Schollaert tied for second at last year’s PIAA Class 2A tournament.
