The Moon Area boys and girls swim teams continued to roll, as they posted easy victories over Quaker Valley Thursday. The Tigers return to action Saturday in the Jim Stacy Memorial Invitational.

Carlynton coach Kevin MacMurdo likes the skilled rosters he has to work with on the boys and girls sides this season. The Cougar boys posted a narrow win Thursday while the girls suffered a tough loss.

Mike Schneiderlochner takes over for Emily McCleary as head coach of the Montour swim team, but that might be a temporary assignment. The Spartans will count on Anastasia Ulintz and Joseph Stahurski to lead the way.
Boys basketball: Jenkins, Holloway lead Carlynton win; Cornell falls to Beaver County Christian
Damien Holloway and Mikey Jenkins combined for 43 points and that was plenty as Carlynton cruised past East Allegheny Thursday night. Cornell, meanwhile, fell to 1-6 with a loss to Beaver County Christian.
Girls basketball: Sto-Rox drops close one to Mohawk; 3 other West Hills schools fall
The Sto-Rox girls basketball team put up a fight but came up short in a loss to Mohawk Thursday night. Bishop Canevin, Montour and Carlynton also lost.

Cornell swim coach Kevin Robertson starts his eighth year at the helm and is expecting some good things from his Raider swimmers.
High school basketball: Montour, Moon, OLSH boys post wins
Montour used exceptional free-throw shooting to claim a big win in a Class 5A Section 4 boys basketball matchup with Chartiers Valley. Moon kept pace by thrashing Lincoln Park, and in Class 2A action, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart came home a winner.
