The 23rd annual Red, White & Blue Classic cross country meet at White Oak Park will feature nearly 100 schools, including four West Hills teams. Competitions are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, Sept. 5-6, showcasing various classes and returning runners.

Moon Area girls soccer coach Bill Pfeifer celebrated his 400th win at the school and his 527th overall, as the Tigers blanked Bethel Park, 9-0. Recognized nationally, Pfeifer credits his success to players and staff. Meanwhile, the girls golf team suffered their first defeat this season against South Fayette.
Liv DeGori's 37 led Moon Area to a 172-177 win over Peters Township in girls golf. The Tigers improved to 8-0 overall, while Montour defeated Moon in girls tennis. OLSH triumphed in volleyball.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's cross country teams excelled at the McKeesport P3R River Trail meet, winning the Cup overall. The girls team triumphed, with notable performances by Jules Goshen and others, while the boys secured third place.
Moon Area's girls soccer team defeated Fort LeBouef 2-1, led by Maddie Shaver and Ally D'Alesio's goals. In boys soccer, Moon Area and Montour also secured victories while Seton La Salle defeated Bishop Canevin, 22-7, in WPIAL football action Saturday night.
Moon Area overcame an early deficit to defeat Montour 41-13, with Andrew Cross throwing three touchdowns and rushing for another, while Antione Arnett rushed for 160 yards and two scores, dominating the game's second half. In other games Friday night, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Carlynton, Cornell and Sto-Rox all lost.
