Moon Area’s boys golf team secured second place with a 399 score in the WPIAL Class 3A Team Championships, qualifying for the finals. In soccer, OLSH won decisively while Montour edged Moon in overtime. Volleyball saw Montour and OLSH claim victories.

Kendall Dydek scored three goals in Moon Area’s 8-0 win over Trinity, extending the Tigers’ section winning streak to 11 games. Meanwhile, Montour and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart also posted wins in their respective matches.

Damar Olds shone in a dominant Bishop Canevin victory over Serra Catholic, catching four touchdown passes and returning an interception for another score, leading the team to a 54-14 win. OLSH posted a narrow victory while Moon Area, Montour, Carlynton, Cornell and Sto-Rox all wound up on the short end of their games.

Owen Minzer scored three goals in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart’s 6-0 win over Serra Catholic, improving the Chargers’ record to 11-0. Carlynton earned its first win, defeating Bishop Canevin 3-0. In volleyball, OLSH downed Aliquippa, but Montour and Cornell lost.

The Moon Area Tigers face a significant challenge as they visit unbeaten Peters Township for a crucial WPIAL Class 5A conference game. Moon is 1-0 in the conference after narrowly defeating Bethel Park. Six other games involving West Hills teams are on the Friday night schedule.
