Diverging Diamond interchange project continues next week in Robinson
Continuing work that’s part of the $58 million Diverging Diamond Interchange project at the I-376 Parkway West/Route 22-30 interchange in Robinson Township will result in overnight lane restrictions on Route 22-30-60 (Steubenville Pike/Lincoln Highway) in Robinson Township starting Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Center median paving work requiring short-term lane closures will occur on Route 22-30-60 in each direction between Montour Church and Campbells Run roads nightly from 6 p.m. through 6 a.m. through Thursday, Sept. 10.
Transportation officials say the Diverging Diamond Interchange – the first in the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDot) District 11 – will improve existing and future traffic flow, operations, queuing and safety on I-376, associated ramps and Route 60.
Work includes bridge replacement, roadway and ramp reconstruction, slope treatment, drainage improvements, traffic signals upgrades, signing and pavement markings installation, and highway lighting updates.
Restrictions include long-term traffic shifts on I-376, closures and detours on interchange ramps, long-term single-lane restrictions on Route 22/30 and closures and detours on Route 22/30 for bridge demolition and the erection of new bridges.
The overall project is expected to conclude in the fall of 2029.

In an unrelated project, PennDOT said shoulder restrictions will occur in both directions of I-79 between the I-376 Airport/Pittsburgh (Exit 59 A/B) interchange and just north of the Route 60 Moon Run/Crafton (Exit 60 A/B) interchange from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, Sept. 11, weather permitting.
These restrictions are to accommodate crews conducting preparatory work and the installation of traffic control devices in advance of upcoming overnight and weekend patching operations, which are anticipated to occur in mid- to late September.
