Girls basketball: Parker, Daeschner pace OLSH past Ellwood City

Stellar offensive efforts from Leah Parker and Sara Daeschner sparked Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to a 60-41 victory over Ellwood City Thursday night in a WPIAL Class 3A Section 1 girls basketball game.

Parker finished with 15 points and Daeschner contributed 14 for the Chargers, who connected on a season-high eight 3-pointers on the night.

Five players each hit at least one 3-pointer for OLSH, which improved to 13-2 overall and 8-0 in section play.

OLSH standout Claudia Ierullo battled foul trouble early on and sat out most of the first two quarters, during which time the Chargers built a 32-22 lead.

Ierullo rebounded to score all 12 of her points in the second half as OLSH won going away.

Caitlin Kreitzer scored 21 points for Ellwood City.
