Goodwill’s Crafton-Ingram store holds grand opening Saturday
Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s newest neighborhood store – and third in the West Hills – will open for business Saturday, Aug. 8, in the Crafton-Ingram Shopping Center.
Community members are invited to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony set for 10 a.m. Saturday at the new store, which is occupying a space formerly filled ty Rite Aid.
The leased space amounts to more than 12,000 square feet – the entire footprint of the former Rite Aid store – and the sales floor will occupy about 8,000 feet, said Lauren Brown, Goodwill’s vice president of external relations.
The new store also will feature a convenient donor drive-through, which will allow donors to pull up without leaving their vehicle. Goodwill team members will be available to assist with unloading donations.
Brown said the new retail store and donation center is designed to provide a convenient and welcoming experience for shoppers and donors alike while expanding Goodwill’s mission of creating opportunities for individuals and strengthening the local community.
Goodwill is nonprofit social enterprise that helps people overcome barriers to employment and achieve meaningful work and greater independence through workforce development, education, disability services, housing and community-based programs.
Goodwill estimates that the Crafton-Ingram store, which technically is in Ingram Borough, will create 30 new jobs that represent about $450,000 in annual payroll investments in the community. The store is estimated to generate some $4 million in annual economic impact through wages, local spending, business activity and community reinvestment.
Monique McIntosh, Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania’s president and CEO, said the opening of the Crafton-Ingram store reflects Goodwill’s continued commitment to invest in the communities that it serves.
“Every donation and every purchase help create jobs, strengthen our local economy and expand access to workforce development services,” she said in a statement.
“As we grow, we are able to serve more individuals and families by removing barriers to employment and creating pathways to economic opportunity. We are honored to become part of the Crafton-Ingram community and look forward to building lasting partnerships that strengthen our region."
The Crafton-Ingram store is Goodwill’s third West Hills location. The nonprofit also operates stores in Robinson and Moon townships, with the latter store being its largest in the region. That store opened in December 2025. Goodwill operates 15 retail outlets in Allegheny County.
Brown said Goodwill chose to open a store in Ingram because market research showed a high potential for donations and high potential for shopping there as well.
Saturday’s grand opening event will feature a community celebration, giveaways and the opportunity to be among the first to explore the new store, which will feature gently used clothing, housewares, furniture, books, electronics and other donated items.
Brown said fresh merchandise is added to the sales floor daily.
Brown said turning the old Rite Aid store into the new Goodwill location didn’t pose any significant problems.
“We did have to do some interior renovations,” she said. “But it was pretty smooth sailing.”
Regular store hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
