High school softball: Bishop Canevin breezes past Springdale; Sto-Rox blanked

Lizzy Fuchs smacked a double and a single and drove in a team-leading four runs to spark Bishop Canevin to a 10-3 victory over Springdale Tuesday in a non-section softball game.

Fuchs’ two-run double keyed a three-run first inning for the Crusaders.

Ava Washington added a single and two RBIs for the winners while Alexis Summers had a hit, scored three times and drove in a run.

Also driving in runs for Bishop Canevin were Lia Pilarski and Bella Lane.

Macie McClain went the distance on the mound for the Crusaders, limiting the Dynamos to four hits and three runs – only one of which was earned – while walking three and striking out nine to pick up the win.

Leechburg 15, Sto-Rox 0

Ava Ferretti went 3 for 3 and drove in six runs and Emily Kostyak had two hits and four RBIs as the Blue Devils blanked the Vikings.

Leechburg pitcher Addie Zanotto did not allow a hit in the three-inning contest. She walked one and struck out eight.

Hayven Lookabaugh had two hits, scored once and drove in a run for the winners while Sophia Holt and Danica Sopcak had a hit and drove in a run.
