Hayden Dunn and Charlie Weiler each scored one goal to lift Moon Area to a 2-0 victory over Butler Tuesday in a WPIAL Class 4A Section 3 boys soccer game.

Freshman Alan Morales played a ball to Dunn 10 minutes into the game, and he cashed it in to give Moon a 1-0 lead.

With about 20 minutes to play in the second half, Trent Scott took a corner kick and Weiler put it in the net to make it 2-0.

Rocco Reilsono earned the clean sheet with help from his back four as Moon improved to 3-3-1 overall and 1-1 in section play.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 5, Freedom 0

Hunter Smith scored a pair of goals and assisted on another to spark the Chargers past the Bulldogs in a Class 1A Section 1 game.

Jeremy Ye, Grant Griesacker and Caiden Price each scored one goal for OLSH, which improved to 4-3 overall and 3-0 in section play.

Wyatt Walsh picked up two assists while Jude Miller assisted on Price’s goal for OLSH, which led 2-0 at halftime.

South Fayette 3, Montour 0

Tyce Rectenwald scored a pair of goals and Lucas Patel added one to spark the Lions past the Spartans in a Class 3A Section 4 match at South Fayette.

Rectenwald scored seven minutes into the game and then added another goal 10 minutes into the second half. Patel scored his goal with nine minutes left in the game.

Montour did not put a shot on goal while Spartans goalkeeper Liam Hovanic stopped 15 shots.

Brentwood 11, Carlynton 2

Miyando Lewis scored a pair of goals for the Cougars, but it wasn’t nearly enough as the Spartans cruised to a Class 1A Section 2 victory. Carlynton dropped to 2-2-1 overall and 1-2-0 in section play with the loss.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 204, Burgettstown 235

Matthew Prince took home medalist honors with a 1-under-par 35 to lead the Chargers past the Blue Devils in a Class 2A Section 4 match at Moon Golf Club.

Garrett Carlowski followed Prince with a round of 41, followed by Wyatt Walsh and Nolan Meyer, who both shot 42, and Ryan DeNinno, who shot 44.

Brady Mermon led Burgettstown by shooting 43.

GIRLS GOLF

Mt. Lebanon 181, Moon Area 183

Live DeGori shot 39 in her final career home match to lead the Tigers, but they came up short against the Blue Devils in a Class 3A Section 2 contest at Moon Golf Club.

Hope Cordle carded a 47 for Moon, followed by Gabby Poeta, who shot a season-best 48, and Adi Hallahan, who shot 49. Ally Jones also posted a career-best score of 46.

Alex Larocca led Mt. Lebanon by shooting 39.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 3, Burgettstown 0

Frankie Schlatterer registered nine kills and five aces as the Chargers swept the Blue Devils in a Class 2A Section 3 match at the Angela Activities Center.

Isabell Rodgers contributed 18 assists and five aces for OLSH while Malley Woynar had five kills and two blocks and Sophia Wasko finished with nine aces and five digs.

Bella Coladonato contributed seven kills and four digs and Carmella Rippole chipped in 10 assists and an ace.

Gabby Bitsura notched 16 assists and two aces to lift the Tigers past the Red Hurricanes in a Class 5A Section 3 match at Moon, 25-8, 25-21, 25-8.

Caroline Diana added seven kills and five aces for Moon while Isabella Hamilton contributed five kills and an ace.
