
McKees Rocks man charged with homicide in Stowe shooting
A McKees Rocks man is facing criminal homicide charges in connection with the shooting death of a man in Stowe Township last week.
Arthur Davis, 39, was taken into custody at a residence in the North Side at about 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, by Allegheny County Police detectives and deputies from the county Sheriff’s Office.
Davis is charged with criminal homicide in connection with the shooting death of Shane Lee Shank, 37, who died shortly before 4 a.m. Saturday, July 25. No hometown was listed for Shank.
Davis was transported to the county jail following his arrest pending preliminary arraignment. In addition to one count of criminal homicide, Davis is charged with one felony count of carrying a firearm without a license.
According to an earlier report from the county police Homicide Unit, at 3:01 a.m. Saturday, county 911 was notified of a shooting that occurred in Derby Alley, behind the 800 block of Broadway Avenue.
First responders found a male victim later identified as Shank suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Preliminary information showed that a male fled from the scene shortly after the incident occurred.
