Pittsburgh Riveters women’s soccer team adds Montour grad to 2026 roster

A Montour High School product is one of three players added to the Pittsburgh Riveters women’s soccer team roster.

Grace Bannon, a 2025 Montour graduate, was added to the roster for the 2026 season along with Azalea Mihailovich and Mia Deramo.

All three midfield players have roots in the Riverhounds Development Academy.

Bannon, 19, started 12 games as a freshman at Campbell University in the fall, recording a pair of assists.

The previous year, she wrapped up her playing time in the RDA and became Montour’s first-ever all-state selection as chosen by the Pennsylvania Soccer Coaches Association.

Bannon scored 19 goals during her senior season at Montour – eight of which were game-winners – and picked up 12 assists. In two years for the Spartans, Bannon had 43 goals and 53 assists.

Bannon was one of 11 players named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Area team after her senior season.

Mihailovich, 22, just wrapped up her senior season at UNC-Asheville, where she was a regular starter throughout her career. Deramo, 18, helped South Fayette High School to its first PIAA state championship last fall, finishing her career as a 50-goal scorer. She is committed to play college soccer next season at Youngstown State University.

Riveters head coach Scott Gibson said he was delighted to add all three players to the squad and called Bannon a “hardworking, technically gifted midfielder (with) a high IQ of reading the game.”

“She is a role model to young players, as she came through the RDA from the ECNL Regional League level into the ECNL level, and she is now a Riveter.”

The Riveters’ roster is nearly set with the first match on the season less than a month away on Saturday, May 16, at home against FC Buffalo.

The Riveters – like the Pittsburgh Riverhounds – will be playing their games at newly rechristened F.N.B. Stadium – formerly known as Highmark Stadium.

The Riverhounds earlier this week announced a new, multiyear stadium naming rights agreement with First National Bank, the largest subsidiary of F.N.B. Corp., and the South Shore home of both the Riverhounds and Riveters will now be known as F.N.B. Stadium.

The stadium name change is effective immediately, and the first event played at F.N.B. Stadium will take place Saturday, April 25, at when the Riverhounds host Greenville Triumph SC at 7 p.m. in their first Prinx Tires USL Cup match of 2026.

F.N.B. Stadium first opened in 2013 as Highmark Stadium, and club officials said Highmark Health and Allegheny Health Network remain committed long-term partners of the Riverhounds. The home of the Riverhounds was the first soccer-specific and team-owned stadium in USL Pro, now known as the USL Championship.
