In the PIAA Class 2A Tournament, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart's boys team overcame a slow start to defeat Redbank Valley 62-51, with Vann Kavals scoring 22 points. Meanwhile, Bishop Guilfoyle triumphed 57-38 over Bishop Canevin in Class 3A boys play and DuBois Central Catholic defeated Bishop Canevin 55-14 in Class 1A girls play.

West Hills teams had mixed results Friday night in the opening round of the PIAA Basketball Tournament. Montour boys won against Milton Hershey, 68-49, while Moon Area lost to Greater Johnstown, 60-53, ending its season. In girls Class 3A, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart triumphed over Seneca, 53-44.

The Moon Area boys basketball team used a big second half to pull away from Penn-Trafford in the battle for seventh place in the WPIAL Class 5A boys basketball tournament. The OLSH boys and Bishop Canevin girls both came up short in their fifth-place games.

The Montour Spartans' dreams of claiming a WPIAL Class 5A boys basketball tournament championship came to an end Tuesday night with a 47-44 semifinal loss to Chartiers Valley. Bishop Canevin's boys also lost in the semifinals to Aliquippa while OLSH's girls prevailed in a third-place game over Ellwood City.
