Moon Area sophomore Rachel Stepp excelled at Saturday’s Butler Invitational, winning the 200 and 400 meters . Teammate Alena Taylor placed fourth in the 300 hurdles and Marcus McGill claimed a third- and a fourth-place finish in the boys meet In flag football, Moon, Montour and Sto-Rox all rolled to wins.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart overcame Fort Cherry’s early 3-0 lead, eventually winning 15-3 in a softball game. Camryn Hummel dominated pitching, struck out six and hit a two-run homer. Montour also secured a commanding victory in its respective game and Carlynton rolled to a baseball victory.

Carlynton defeated Brentwood 9-8 in a thrilling baseball matchup, overcoming a 5-0 deficit with a late rally, highlighted by Tyler Heinrich’s game-winning hit. In other games, Moon Area excelled in baseball, softball and volleyball, while Riverside dominated Sto-Rox. Moon’s flag football team struggled against Keystone Oaks.
