Eight West Hills area wrestlers -- four from Moon Area, three from Carlynton and one from Montour -- placed among the top seven in their weight classes at the WPIAL Tournament. All seven will advance to regional action Feb. 28-March 1.

The Moon Area boys and girls swim teams outdistanced the competition over the weekend at the Midwestern Athletic Conference Championship meet held Friday and Saturday at Moon. A total of 13 schools competed in both the girls and boys meets.
Moon Area's Liam Costa won the 160-pound title and Carlynton's Henry Barbisch ruled the 285-pound class at their respective WPIAL sectional tournaments Saturday. Seventeen area wrestlers secured berths in next week's WPIAL Championships.
