A preliminary hearing for three men charged with multiple counts of rape, sexual assault and other crimes in connection with an incident that police say involved two teenage girls and occurred at home in Kennedy Township earlier this month was postponed until Jan. 6, 2026.
The hearing for Dashawn Hines, 18, and Andre Hines, 20, both of McKees Rocks, and Amaud Berry, 18, of Virginia Beach, Va., had been scheduled to take place Tuesday.
All three men remain in custody at the Allegheny County Jail after bail was denied following their arrest on Dec. 15.
The Jan. 6 preliminary hearing is scheduled to take place before Magisterial District Judge Carla M. Swearingen-Batch.
All three are charged with multiple felony counts of rape, sexual assault, unlawful restraint of a minor, unlawful contact with a minor and conspiracy as well as misdemeanor counts of simple assault, indecent assault, corruption of minors and possession of an instrument of crime.
According to an affidavit of probable cause, Kennedy police received a call at about 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, to check on the two girls, ages 14 and 16, after they were told the two girls were being held against their will by adults at a residence.
While responding to the call, officers found the two girls walking on Ewing Road, and the girls identified the home where they said they had been held. The two girls were then transported to UPMC Children’s Hospital for medical evaluation, and they were later interviewed by Allegheny County police detectives at the hospital.
According to court records, the girls told detectives they used drugs at a home on Castle View Drive, then were restrained before being raped by the three men.
