High school golf: OLSH’s Schollaert fourth after opening round at PIAA Class 2A tournament

Irelynn Hobbs scored three goals, leading Montour to a 5-0 win against Blackhawk, securing a playoff spot. Moon Area defeated Bethel Park 6-0, while Bishop Canevin edged South Allegheny 1-0 and Carlynton topped Freedom Area, 3-2. Eden Christian Academy triumphed over Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 3-2.

The Moon Area boys golf team nearly broke the tournament record at the Tam O’Shanter Invitational, finishing with a score of 291. Matthew Koch won medalist honors. Golfers from Moon, Bishop Canevin and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart will compete in upcoming tournament play.
