Montour defeated Moon Area 10-3 in a WPIAL Class 5A softball game, driven by Paige Fiedler and Emily McClean’s stellar hitting. Despite Moon’s early lead, Montour rallied with key hits and a six-run sixth inning. Meanwhile, various baseball games saw significant performances, including McKenna Griffith’s grand slam for Cornell.

Chloe Goodwin led Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to a 37-7 victory with two touchdowns, helping the Chargers post their first win of the season. Sto-Rox and Moon Area also secured wins in their respective games, showcasing notable performances from Rae Johnston and Juls Corrado.

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart posted dual wins Tuesday, claiming a 5-2 victory over Brentwood in baseball and a 5-3 win over Fort Cherry in softball. Montour also was victorious on the softball diamond, beating Chartiers Valley.

Bishop Canevin came up just short Monday in a non-section softball game, falling to Taylor Allderdice, 16-15, after a last-inning rally. Meanwhile, poor weather conditions prompted the postponement of the WPIAL Boys Singles Tennis Championships. Play will get underway Wednesday in the Class 2A event, which features Montour’s Jonah Camardese.

Montour defeated South Fayette 4-3 in a thrilling WPIAL softball game with a seventh-inning rally led by Emmy Ellis’ game-winning hit. In boys tennis, Montour’s Jordan Camardese reached the Class 2A Section 2 singles finals but lost to Max Henson, securing a spot in the WPIAL tournament.

The Riverhounds recently won 2-0 against Virginia Dream FC in the U.S. Open Cup. They’ll advance to face MLS’s New York Red Bulls in the Round of 32 later this month.

Montour’s Jonah Camardese reaches the WPIAL Class 2A Section 2 boys tennis singles finals, facing champion Max Henson. Previously a doubles winner, Camardese advanced by defeating three opponents, while teammate Trey Varga lost to Henson. Bishop Canevin won in girls softball and OLSH prevailed in boys volleyball.
