High school roundup: OLSH blanks Moon in boys soccer; Montour falls to West Allegheny

Brady Martinez scored two goals as Our Lady of the Sacred Heart defeated Moon Area 3-0 in a boys soccer match Saturday, improving to 12-0. West Allegheny also won 2-0 against Montour, with goals from Josh Bohley and Anthony Mimma.

Damar Olds shone in a dominant Bishop Canevin victory over Serra Catholic, catching four touchdown passes and returning an interception for another score, leading the team to a 54-14 win. OLSH posted a narrow victory while Moon Area, Montour, Carlynton, Cornell and Sto-Rox all wound up on the short end of their games.

Liv DeGori of Moon Area secured fifth place in the WPIAL Class 3A girls golf tournament, qualifying for the PIAA tournament. Teammate Angelina Schild finished 10th and Aubrey Marasco was 25th. OLSH, Montour, Moon and Carlynton all posted girls soccer wins while Montour's boys also prevailed.

Jonah Schollaert secured the WPIAL Class 2A boys individual golf championship with a total score of 144, winning by two strokes. He will advance to the PIAA Championships, as will Bishop Canevin's Jamin Brock, who finished 17th.Other sports results include soccer, cross country, and volleyball matches.
