Carlynton dominated Mapletown in WPIAL baseball action with a 17-2 victory, fueled by Isaac Anker and Tyler Heinrich's strong performances. Montour dominated Gateway in a WPIAL Class 5A baseball game, winning 16-3 as Zander Stern had three hits and four RBIs. Meanwhile, Moon Area and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart posted big wins in girls flag football.
Chloe Goodwin led Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to a 37-7 victory with two touchdowns, helping the Chargers post their first win of the season. Sto-Rox and Moon Area also secured wins in their respective games, showcasing notable performances from Rae Johnston and Juls Corrado.
Montour's baseball team defeated Connellsville, 8-0, Tuesday with Michael Ivanoff pitching a complete-game shutout. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart beat Carlynton, 10-0 and Bishop Canevin blanked Monessen 15-0. In softball, Montour, Moon and Bishop Canevin all won while Sto-Rox and Moon claimed flag football wins. OLSH prevailed in boys volleyball.
