Wednesday was a rough night for West Hills area high school basketball teams, as Bishop Canevin and Montour girls teams lost, as did Sto-Rox's boys team.
Mikey Jenkins and Ishaga Barre scored 12 points apiece to lead Carlynton to a 61-48 victory over Washington Tuesday night in a WPIAL boys basketball game. The win gave the Cougars a berth in the WPIAL tournament. Montour, Moon and OLSH also won. (Photos)
Montour withstood a late rally from Hoover and posted a 65-60 victory Sunday at the Battle of the Berkey in Smithville, Ohio. Kaleb Platz scored 23 points and was named the player of the game.

South Fayette remained unbeaten in Class 5A Section 3 girls basketball action by beating Moon Area, 51-24, Monday night. OLSH, Montour and Carlynton all came away with victories. (Photos)
Ama Sow scored 32 points and grabbed 22 rebounds to help Montour beat Pine-Richland in the PBC Hall of Fame Classic Sunday. Moon Area also claimed a win over Bethel Park while Sto-Rox lost to Sewickley Academy.
