Leann Walzer had three hits and drove in a run and Sophia Wasko added two hits and an RBI but it wasn't enough as Our Lady of the Sacred Heart fell, 11-7, in softball action. In track, Carlynton's athletes excelled, with several first-place finishes in both boys' and girls' events.
PIAA track: Three West Hills athletes bring home medals from state meet
Three athletes from the West Hills area earned medals during Saturday's final session of the PIAA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University. Carlynton's Jordynn Carter secured third in the girls triple jump, while Rachel Stepp and Maria Depner, both of Moon Area, placed fifth and seventh in their events, respectively.

Carlynton High School senior Ryan Lewis, recovering from two torn ACL injuries, will compete at the 2025 PIAA Track and Field Championships. Despite his most recent injury, he finished fifth at the WPIAL meet to earn a spot in the PIAA meet.
