Montour dominated Blackhawk 69-36 with Löic Kalau scoring 20 points, while Chartiers Valley held off Moon Area 46-43, improving to 6-1. Carlynton narrowly defeated McGuffey 48-44, Cornell triumphed over Beaver County Christian 61-30, and Keystone Oaks edged Sto-Rox 45-40. In girls play, Chartiers Valley topped Moon.

Jake Johnson’s 17 points led Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to a 56-35 boys basketball win over Union. In girls basketball, Quaker Valley’s Mimi Thiero scored 38 points, defeating OLSH 49-30. Other games included Mohawk’s close win against Sto-Rox and South Fayette’s triumph over Montour.

Moon Area’s Maria Depner scored 24 points in a dominant 71-21 win over New Castle. Chartiers Valley edged Montour 36-34 on McKenna Helfrick’s late basket, while Beaver Falls overcame a halftime deficit to beat OLSH 44-37. Other results included Jeannette’s 44-23 victory over Carlynton and Serra Catholic’s 70-38 win over Bishop Canevin.

Lola Garner scored 22 points, leading Our Lady of the Sacred Heart to a 62-19 victory over Ellwood City in a WPIAL Class 3A girls basketball game. OLSH’s boys team lost, as did Montour and Carlynton while Sto-Rox and Cornell captured wins.

Gianna Matthews scored 16 points as Bishop Canevin defeated Monessen 46-37 in a WPIAL Class 1A girls basketball game. The night also celebrated their 2012-13 championship team. Sto-Rox and Montour secured wins in their respective matchups.
