Moon Area baseball defeated Upper St. Clair 7-4, powered by Andrew Cross’s two-run homer. Montour and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart also won their games. In softball, Moon and OLSH both captured non-section victories.

Carlynton overcame an early 7-2 deficit and a subsequent 14-12 deficit in extra innings to edge Bentworth, 15-14, in 10 innings. Carter Donlin’s RBI single clinched the win, while Isaac Anker led with five hits and scored four runs.

Zander Stern’s standout performance helped Montour achieve an 8-7 comeback win against Chartiers Valley. Meanwhile, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart secured an impressive victory over Bethlehem Center. In flag football, Moon downed Sto-Rox and Bishop Canevin beat West Allegheny. In boys volleyball, Montour downed OLSH.

Owen Amey’s three RBIs led Moon Area to a 10-4 victory over Bethel Park in baseball, while Bishop Canevin overcame a 4-1 deficit to beat Deer Lakes 9-5. Montour defeated McKeesport 5-1. OLSH whipped Aliquippa in girls flag football.

Moon Area sophomore Rachel Stepp excelled at Saturday’s Butler Invitational, winning the 200 and 400 meters . Teammate Alena Taylor placed fourth in the 300 hurdles and Marcus McGill claimed a third- and a fourth-place finish in the boys meet In flag football, Moon, Montour and Sto-Rox all rolled to wins.
