In other games, Keystone Oaks defeated Bishop Canevin 49-43, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart beat Rochester 78-30, and Moon Area topped West Allegheny 68-38,. OLSH's Jake Johnson scored his 1,000th career point.
The Robert Morris men’s basketball team faces first-place Wright State Wednesday, Feb. 4, aiming to rebound from recent losses. The women’s team, after a victory against IU-Indy, prepares for a tough matchup with undefeated UW-Green Bay on Thursday, Feb. 5, at home.
Mark Carter scored 21 points to lead Montour to a 56-42 win over Mars Monday night, improving their record to 5-6 in section play. Montour is contending for a playoff spot. In other games, OLSH whipped Western Beaver and in girls play, the Chargers and Bishop Canevin won.
Jackson Maddox led Bishop Canevin to a 56-41 win over McGuffey, scoring 22 points. The Crusaders improved to 12-7 overall, pulling away in the final quarter. In girls basketball, Moon Area defeated Avonworth 44-26.
Moon Area defeated Mars, 76-38, Friday night boys basketball action,. Montour rallied to beat West Allegheny 50-44. Our Lady of the Sacred Heart topped Shenango 57-19, while Bishop Canevin bested Carlynton 53-41. Washington edged Sto-Rox 62-58, and Avella overcame Cornell 63-49. In girls play, OLSH downed Sto-Rox and Montour fell to West Allegheny.
The Robert Morris men's basketball team will travel to face Purdue-Fort Wayne Saturday, Jan. 31, seeking redemption after a previous loss. The women's team lost to Purdue-FW, affected by poor shooting, dropping their conference standing. Both teams aim to improve in the Horizon League.
Lola Garner scored 15 points as Our Lady of the Sacred Heart edged Riverside 41-39 in Thursday night girls' basketball. Sto-Rox defeated Ellwood City 49-38, Mars narrowly beat Moon 44-42, and West Greene topped Bishop Canevin 37-29. Moon's swimming teams also swept Butler.
