Moon Area sophomore Rachel Stepp excelled at Saturday's Butler Invitational, winning the 200 and 400 meters . Teammate Alena Taylor placed fourth in the 300 hurdles and Marcus McGill claimed a third- and a fourth-place finish in the boys meet In flag football, Moon, Montour and Sto-Rox all rolled to wins.
Montour defeated McKeesport 14-1, powered by Tyler Puffer's four hits and six RBIs, and Caleb Armbruster's four hits and five RBIs. Other games saw Moon winning 5-4 against Bethel Park and South Side rallying to beat Our Lady of the Sacred Heart 10-8. Moon and OLSH also secured softball victories.
Deer Lakes secured a 2-0 softball victory over Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, with Natalia Lisotto's RBI single being decisive. OLSH struggled offensively, managing only two hits. In boys volleyball, Shaler swept Montour, while Montour's doubles tennis team prepares for next week's WPIAL championships.
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart overcame Fort Cherry's early 3-0 lead, eventually winning 15-3 in a softball game. Camryn Hummel dominated pitching, struck out six and hit a two-run homer. Montour also secured a commanding victory in its respective game and Carlynton rolled to a baseball victory.

Carlynton defeated Brentwood 9-8 in a thrilling baseball matchup, overcoming a 5-0 deficit with a late rally, highlighted by Tyler Heinrich's game-winning hit. In other games, Moon Area excelled in baseball, softball and volleyball, while Riverside dominated Sto-Rox. Moon's flag football team struggled against Keystone Oaks.
Andrew Cross's home run and Christopher Sandor's strong pitching led Moon Area to a 5-2 baseball victory over Chartiers Valley. Fort Cherry defeated Bishop Canevin 7-5, with Jackson Maddix's efforts falling short. In softball, Bishop Canevin rolled over Rochester and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart prevailed in boys volleyball.
