The Carlynton girls rolled to a 36-20 win over East Allegheny Friday night in the opening round of the Carlynton Cougars Boys and Girls Tipoff Classic. Bishop Canevin fell to Beaver and Moon lost a one-point decision to Canon-McMillan in the opening round of the Moon tournament.

The Sto-Rox girls basketball team used a balanced approach to hold off Carlynton in a battle of two West Hills area teams. Rae Johnston and Kamiyah Thompson each scored 14 points for the victorious Vikings.
