Shae Trombetta scored 14 points as Our Lady of the Sacred Heart defeated Penn Hills 61-18 in a WPIAL girls basketball game. Canon-McMillan beat Montour, 55-44, while in boys action, Ringgold topped Montour, 72-60.
High school basketball: Cornell falls to Summit Academy in season finale
In their final boys basketball game of the season Saturday, the Cornell Raiders lost 74-45 to Summit Academy, despite an early lead. Summit dominated the second quarter, scoring 22 points. Eduardo Benitez led Cornell with 18 points. Cornell ended the season with a record of 4-16.
RMU hockey: Men outlast Canisius 6-4; women blank Delaware 6-0
The Robert Morris hockey teams achieved victories Saturday, with the women defeating Delaware 6-0 and the men overcoming Canisius 6-4. The women's team swept a two-game set from Delaware, while the men's squad extended its unbeaten streak to three games with a two-game sweep of Canisius.
High schools: Moon boys edge Montour in OT; Bishop Canevin wins section crown; OLSH shares title
AJ Buford scored crucial points in overtime to lead Moon Area to a 48-45 victory over Montour, securing third place in WPIAL Class 5A Section 4. Montour also advanced to the playoffs despite the loss. Bishop Canevin won its Class 3A section outright while Our Lady of the Sacred Heart earned a share of its Class 2A section title.
